KODA KUMI ~Let’s Party vol.4~ at Zepp Sapporo, August 1 2025

Kumi has been one of my all time favourite artists since I first heard BUT in early 2007. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a number of her concerts; every tour from 2013 - 2018, as well as angeL & monsteR in 2023 and the fanclub tour in 2018. I was already planning on coming to Japan to visit my partner who’s working on World Expo in Osaka and when I saw I could make the first date of Let’s party vol.4 in Sapporo I jumped at the opportunity.

I’m a bit out of the loop as I don’t use the KK App, but I understand part of the theme of this tour was based on a live stream she did which involved a game show / quiz with her dancers.
The show was in two parts.

Part 1: game show.
The stage had 3 desks with team ACHI (3 dancers), team Koda Kumi (with Kuu herself and 2 dancers), and team Koda Gumi (3 fans). Another dancer acted as MC.
They played an introduction video before with the history of Let’s party and footage from all 3 previous volumes as well as the live game show.

The questions were fun, they played footage from last years tour and asked what incorrect name did Kuu call KAREN (dancer) when introducing her in the encore? At 2023 tour, what did Kuu notice when she turned around? They had a clip from her KodaShiki book and asked to fill in the blanks from her quote, a 2019 TV performance of cutie honey - what song did she play next? An old interview where Kuu said she liked to eat something with her friends and watch sex and the city - what did she like to eat? They then played some sped up songs and they had to guess the song (Lollipop, POP DIVA), and then they played 3 songs at the same time and you had to guess (ESCALATE, Ultraviolet, 今すぐ欲しい). The final challenge was the most fun- fans had been asked to bring in old concert tickets. One member from each team ran into the audience and picked a fan each and brought them onstage to show their tickets- the winner attended first things tour in Sapporo in 2005. The other two girls had been to second session in 2006. Kuu hugged them all and took photos (and remarked how one of the girls names was also Kumiko).
The fan team KodaGumi won by far- 85 points to Kumi’s 30 (and ACHI’s 5).
It was fun and entertaining. Lots of chatting and banter and silliness between them all.

Then Killer monsteR starts playing with the MV and Kuu came out with the dancers. She had a white two piece outfit on with knee high silver boots. She looked fantastic.
The show was fun, so nostalgic to hear so many bsides and rare tracks live. The Love goes like… performance featured the video and same choreo from second sessions tour.
Kuu sounded a little shaky at times and a little unsure of the lyrics, particularly during the Sapporo limited rare song performance of 乱反射. She also said it was from her album feel my mind, when it’s from grow into one, lol. She said she never sang it live as she wasn’t able to tour at that stage of her career.

There was no encore but fans chanted after the last song even though the venue announced it was the end- Kuu came back out again and thanked us all for coming.
